National Service Scheme (NSS)

AIM

National Service Scheme (NSS) was introduced in 1969 with the primary objective of developing the personality and character of the student youth through voluntary community service. ‘Education through Service’ is the purpose of the NSS. The ideological orientation of the NSS is inspired by the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi. Very appropriately, the motto of NSS is “NOT ME, BUT YOU”. NSS volunteer places the ‘community’ before ‘self’.

Objectives

Understand the community in which they work. Understand themselves in relation to their community. Identify the needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem-solving. Develop among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility.

  • The vision is to build the youth with the mind and spirit to serve the society and work for the social uplift of the down-trodden masses of our nation as a movement.

Mission

  • The National Service Scheme has been functioning with the motto “NOT ME BUT YOU” in view of making the youth inspired in service of the people and hence NSS Aims Education through Community Service and Community Service through Education.

NSS Annual Report

The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit organized a series of meaningful programmes during the academic year 2025–2026, focusing on health, social awareness, patriotism, environmental sustainability, and student development.

  1. On 24.07.2025, a Leprosy Survey Training Programme was conducted to educate NSS volunteers about leprosy, including its symptoms, prevention, and survey methods. Students were trained to identify early signs and create awareness in the community. This programme helped in reducing stigma and improving public health awareness.
  2. On 25.07.2025, Kargil Vijay Diwas was observed with activities such as speeches and discussions to honour the sacrifices of Indian soldiers. This event instilled patriotism and respect for the armed forces among students.
  3. On 25.07.2025 and 01.08.2025, an Anti-Drug Awareness Programme was conducted to highlight the harmful effects of drug abuse and addiction. It encouraged students to adopt a healthy and drug-free lifestyle.
  4. On 11.08.2025, National Deworming Day was observed with awareness activities emphasizing the importance of deworming for maintaining good health and hygiene, thereby promoting preventive healthcare.
  5. On 14.08.2025, an Independence Day Rally was organized to spread messages of unity, patriotism, and national integrity, strengthening civic sense and national pride.
  6. From 01.08.2025 to 20.08.2025, NSS volunteers conducted a Leprosy Survey in nearby areas to identify cases and spread awareness. This provided valuable field experience and contributed to community health improvement.
  7. On 18.08.2025, a Cyber Security Awareness Webinar was conducted to educate students about cyber threats, online safety, and digital responsibility, enhancing awareness of safe internet usage.
  8. On 22.08.2025, a Traffic Awareness Programme was organized to educate students on traffic rules and road safety, promoting disciplined road behaviour.
  9. From 24.08.2025 to 27.08.2025, a Study on Living Conditions in a Village was conducted to understand rural sanitation and socio-economic status. This developed social awareness and responsibility among students.
  10. On 29.08.2025, Sports Day was celebrated to encourage physical fitness and teamwork, promoting a healthy lifestyle and team spirit.
  11. On 09.09.2025, an Awareness Programme on Nutrition and Health was conducted to educate students about balanced diets and healthy habits, improving knowledge on well-being.
  12. From 01.09.2025 to 30.09.2025, National Nutrition Month was celebrated with various activities to promote proper nutrition and prevent malnutrition.
  13. On 12.09.2025, a Road Safety Awareness Programme was conducted to educate students about accident prevention, creating responsible road users.
  14. On 17.09.2025, Social Justice Day was observed with programmes highlighting equality, rights, and justice, promoting inclusiveness and social harmony.
  15. On 23.09.2025, Ayurveda Day was celebrated to create awareness about traditional medicine and natural healing practices, encouraging healthy lifestyles.
  16. On 24.09.2025, students participated in the Swachhata Shapath Pledge, promoting cleanliness and environmental responsibility.
  17. On 30.09.2025, Gandhi Jayanthi was celebrated with activities emphasizing Gandhian values of non-violence and cleanliness, inspiring ethical living.
  18. On 07.10.2025, a Cyber Security Quiz was conducted for students to enhance awareness and engagement in digital safety.
  19. On 08.10.2025, a Cyber Hygiene Campaign and Inventory Update Drive was organized to promote digital safety and proper resource management.
  20. On 09.10.2025, a Cyber Security Quiz for Staff and a Career Guidance Programme for students were conducted, enhancing digital awareness and guiding future career choices.
  21. On 11.10.2025, a Cyber Awareness Social Media Campaign was conducted to promote responsible digital behaviour.
  22. On 15.10.2025, the birth anniversary of A. P. J. Abdul Kalam was celebrated to inspire students and motivate them to achieve their goals.
  23. On 23.10.2025, students participated in the Viksit Bharat Young Leader Dialogue (VBYLD-2026), which helped develop leadership qualities and awareness of national development.
  24. On 25.10.2025, an Experimental Learning Programme (ELP) was conducted under Mission Life to encourage practical learning.
  25. On 27.10.2025, multiple activities such as the Sardar 150 Young Leader Quiz, Vigilance Pledge, and Orientation Programme were conducted, promoting leadership, ethics, and knowledge sharing.
  26. On 28.10.2025, a Plant Sapling Drive was organized to support environmental protection.
  27. On 29.10.2025, a Waste and Plastic Action Programme (E-Waste Awareness) was conducted to promote sustainable practices.
  28. On 31.10.2025, National Unity Day was observed with a quiz programme commemorating Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, promoting unity and integrity.
  29. On 26.11.2025, Constitution Day was observed with a pledge ceremony, strengthening democratic values among students.
  30. On 18.12.2025, a Dog Bite Awareness Programme was conducted to educate students on prevention and management, ensuring public safety.
  31. On 06.01.2026, a Folic Acid Awareness Programme was conducted to educate students about anemia prevention, particularly among young women, thereby improving health awareness.
  32. On 07.01.2026, a Leprosy Training Programme was conducted to reinforce knowledge about leprosy and strengthen public health awareness.
  33. On 26.01.2026, Republic Day was celebrated with patriotic activities, promoting respect for the Constitution and national values.

NSS Special camp

                On 09.02.2026 to 15.02.2026, The NSS unit students and Program Officer Dr. V.Vishali and Ms. H.Suhaina organized the Special Camp topic on “Youth for My Bharat- Youth for Digital” at Veppur Village, Ranipet.  50 students participated in the special camp and done their camp service. Each Day various chief guests are invited and given their special talks to Veppur village and NSS Students were cleaned the Veppur surrounding areas like, schools, park, temple and given their anti-drug awareness program and road safety program and seed ball distribution to the Veppur public peoples. On 14.02.2026, Dr.Vijayanand NSS co-ordinator addressed to the students about this NSS special camp importance and women’s education and safety.

 

  1. On 12.08.2024, The Anti-Drug Committee, Internal Complaint Committee, NSS, YRC, RRC organized Pledge or all the students at our college Auditorium & got the e-pledge certificate. Our resource person Dr Freda Gnanaselvam, Principal of our College delivered special address about role of students to the society to reduce the drug addiction and followed by students http://www.cbn.nic.in/hi/pledge/

On 15.08.2024, M.M.E.S Women’s Arts &Science College celebrated India’s 78th Independence Day, where faculty members and Non-teaching staff members paid tribute to the nation and freedom fighters of India. It is a remarkable day when we honor and respect all our freedom fighters who fought for India’s freedom.
  3. On 20.08.2025, Sadbhavna Day were conducted by the NSS unit. Sadbhavna Day is  not only commemorates the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhibut also reflects on the values he advocated during his life, such as unity, compassion, and the need for a harmonious society.  V. Fathima Thaskin NSS Program Officer talked about the Sadbhavana Day to the NSS students in our college.
  4. On 23.08.2024 The NSS unit students through distributed the free deworming tablets provided by the Tamilnadu Government. More than 600 Students received this tablet. Mrs.V.Fathima Thaskin distributed the free deworming tablets to the following students in MMES college.
  5. On 19.08.2024, the World Humanitarian Day was celebrated by Department of Business Administration and NSS Unit staff members and students offered snacks and lunch to our college house keeping staff members.
  6. On 07.09.2024 The Anti-Drug Committee, Internal Complaint Committee, NSS, YRC, RRC organized Pledge for all the students on 12-08-2024 at our college Auditorium. In students from various department are participated the, poster presentation, poetry and essay competition were organized by the clubs and posters were pasted at notice board for college students awareness about the Anti drug and Drug abuse, Illicit trafficking. This Awareness Programme was conducted by the Internal Complaint Committee, Anti-Drug Committee, NSS, YRC & RRC Program Officer in our college.
  7. On 17.09.2024,.The Tamil Nadu government has decided to celebrate every year the birth anniversary of reformist leader E V Ramasamy Periyar on September 17 as “Social Justice Day,” which is a government holiday, so earlier on 16.09.2024 all the staff members in our college have took Social Justice Day pledge.
  8. On 17.09.2024 to 02.10.2024 During this period both the on campus and off campus cleanliness activities have been planned involving NSS students in our college. Various establishments are conducting Swachhta Seminars, Awareness campaigns, etc. on relevant topics, progress and some glimpse of the institute.  Cleaning and sanitation activities were carried out in the residential campus.  The Swachhata Hi sewa My Bharat whole process work can done by Mrs. V. Fathima Thaskin NSS Program Officer and MS. Hema Malini was coordinated the activity. From the government as per procedures through can bought the my bharat logo printed head caps, hand gloves are distributed to the following NSS students. NSS Students were used this all those distributed things and can done their activities as successfully.
  9. On 03.10.2024, NSS Unit with Electrol Literacy Club and Election Commision Organized Voter’s day celebration. We will conducted the Drawing Competition to students about Sveep Election Competition program on the topic” Nothing Like Voting-I vote for sure. Freda Gnanaselvam with Election Commission Officers are lead and inaugurated the event as successfully.
  10. On 04.10.2024, NSS Unit Celebration of 7th Rashtriya Poshan Maah. The NSS unit Students were went to Primary Schools at Melvisharam. The Students were analysed the Anthropometric Assessement to the primary school childrens and given the awareness about the importance of fruits and vegetables, nutrition education about malnutrition, anemia, growth monitoring.  
  11. On 27.09.2024 Deployment of NSS Volunteers under “Seva Se Sikhe” Experimential Learning Programme in the Health Centres. Fathima Thaskin NSS Program Officer and Ms. Hema Malini were planned and accompanied with students to the Melvisharam Government Primary Health care centre. Students are learned about the Hospital works and helped with hospital staff members.  Students were helped and to cleaned the hospital rooms and medicine rooms with safely guidance through hospital staff members.
  12. On 28.10.2024 the Swachhta Pledge was administered by all the department staffs in every class. The pledge was taken by the staff and students were emphasizing the commitment towards Swachhata. On 10.2024. The event saw the participation of 25 dedicated NSS volunteers went the Scudder Memorial Hospital, Ranipet under the guidance of the Program Officers, Mrs. Fathima Taskin and Miss Hema Malini. The enthusiasm and commitment of the students were evident throughout the day, as they worked in teams to achieve their objectives.
  13. On 30.11.2024 & 02.12.2024 NCERT  Training Program conducted at PG Seminar Hall, M.M.E.S.Women’s Arts and Science College, Melvisharam.  Above 39 students are got this training program and went to various schools at 4th December 2024.  Each Students can received Rs. 3000 for this NCERT.
  14. On 11.01.2025 National Youth Day is celebrated annually to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, a prominent spiritual leader and youth icon. The 2025 celebration at M.M.E.S. Women’s Arts and Science College aimed to inspire students through an interactive session with successful startup founders. The event was organized under the joint efforts of the Institution’s Innovation Council, Department of Foods and Nutrition, and the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC).
  15. On 28.01.2025 SLAS Training program conducted at PG Seminar Hall, M.M.E.S.Women’s Arts and Science College, Melvisharam.  Above 85 students can got this training program went to various schools and received Rs.1800.
  16. On 10.02.2025 The NSS unit students through distributed the free deworming tablets provided by the Tamilnadu Government. More than 600 Students received this tablet. Principal Dr. Freda Gnanaselvam, NSS Program Officer Mrs.V.Fathima Thaskin & Hospital nurse distributed the free deworming tablets to the following students in MMES college.
  17. On 12.02.2025 to 13.02.2025 Eye camp through Free eye check-up Organized by MMES College and Eye Foundation Hospital, Vellore at our MMES College. Principal Dr. Freda Gnanaselvam & IQAC Director Dr. B. Sasireka with Eye Foundation Hospital staffs inaugurate the Free Eye camp at MMES College campus on 02.2025. Above1078 students are benefited to this Free Eye-checup.
  18. On 17.02.2025, The National Service Scheme and Health and Wellness Club of M.M.E.S Women’s Arts and Science College, Melvisharam, organized an awareness program on healthy lifestyle to college students. The program was attended by 415 students and faculty members. Mrs. Rajalakshmi, Health Educator, CMC Hospital, Vellore, delivered the keynote address on the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle for college going students
  19. On 02.2025,Anemia and HPV Awareness Program was successfully organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), National Service Scheme and Health & Wellness Club of M.M.E.S. Women’s Arts and Science College, Melvisharam, in collaboration with the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Ranipet and the Indian Academy of Paediatrics (IAP) Vellore.
  20. On 21.02.2025 ,The 25th anniversary of International Mother Language Day celebrates by NSS unit students for the quarter-century of efforts to preserve linguistic diversity and promote mother tongues. This milestone emphasizes the importance of language preservation in safeguarding cultural heritage, improving education, and fostering more peaceful societies. Students were taken the pledge promotes inclusive societies but also aids in preserving non-dominant, minority, and indigenous languages. It is a cornerstone for achieving equitable access to education and lifelong learning opportunities for all individuals.
  21. On 24.02.2025 The National Service Scheme and Health and Wellness Club of M.M.E.S Women’s Arts and Science College, Melvisharam, organized an awareness program on healthy lifestyle to college students . Ms. Suganya, Health Educator, CMC Hospital, Vellore, delivered the keynote address on the importance of mental health, stress management, stress reliving activities etc. . The program was attended by 400 students and faculty members.
  22. On 03.03.2025 the Department of Foods and Nutrition, in collaboration with the Health and Wellness Club, NSS and the Anti-Drug Committee of M.M.E.S Women’s Arts and Science College, Melvisharam, organized an awareness program on “Substance Abuse.” The program aimed to educate students about the risks, consequences, and preventive measures related to drug abuse The program commenced at 11:00 AM with a welcome address by Mrs. V. Fathima Thaskin, National Service Scheme program officer. This was followed by an introduction of the resource person, Mrs. Rajalakshmi, Health Educator, CMC Hospital, Vellore. Above 500 Students were participated in this program.
  23. On 13.03.2025, The Health and Wellness Club of M.M.E.S Women’s Arts and Science College, Melvisharam, organized an awareness programme on the topic “Safety” on 13.03.2025. The programme aimed to create awareness among students about the importance of safety in daily life. . The program was attended by 320 students and faculty members.
  24. On 04.2025 The Free Health Check-up was organized by Christian Medical College at MMES College with the primary aim of providing free Health check-ups and see among  the Adolescent life style current scenario.  The camp was designed to offer essential care services, including blood test, body analysed like anthropometric test and fat test analysed, and consultations for common Adolescent girls for healthy life style discussion. The initiative was aimed at improving the health of the underserved population, particularly those who could not afford such services.Principal Dr.Freda Gnanaselvam presided these free health check-ups.  Mrs. Fathima Thaskin, Ms. Hema malini, CMC Life Dept. staff Dr. Shobana Devi, Dr. Joseph and other CMC Hospital team members are organized and conducted this free health check-ups among the adolescent girls at MMES college on 07.04.2025 and 08.04.2025.  Free breakfasts were provided for those who took the blood tests and other health check-up at our MMES college campus.
  25. On 10.03.2025 to 16.03.2025, The NSS unit students and Mrs. Fathima Thaskin and Ms. Hemamalini organized the Special Camp topic on “HEALTHY YOUTH AND HEALTHY INDIA” at Veppur Village, Ranipet. Above 50 students were participated this special camp and done their camp service. Each Day various chief guests are invited and given their special talks to veppur village and NSS Students were cleaned the veppur surrounding areas like, schools, park, office and given their anti drug awareness program and road safety program to the veppur public peoples.   1. 05 June 2023 – World Environment Day
    The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of M.M.E.S. Women’s Arts and Science College, Melvisharam organized a social event called World Environment Day. Students participated in cleaning activities and planted trees around Ramdoss Nagar.
  2. 10 June 2023 – Tree Plantation Drive
    NSS organized a Tree Plantation Drive at Arunkundram Village. Around 25 saplings were planted by 20 NSS volunteers.
  3. 21 June 2023 – International Yoga Day
    NSS and IQAC jointly celebrated International Yoga Day. The chief guest, Mrs. C. Parameswari, Certified Yoga Trainer, emphasized the importance of yoga in daily life. Around 150 students participated in the yoga session.
  4. 26 June 2023 – Youth Against Drugs and Substance Abuse Rally
    NSS volunteers organized a Youth Against Drugs and Substance Abuse Rally in association with the Rotary Club of Arcot Fort. Mr. Jaisingh Vijay, President of Rotary Club of Arcot, attended as the chief guest.
  5. 06 July 2023 – Free Medical Camp
    NSS volunteers organized a Free Medical Camp at Veppur Village. Around 50 villagers participated in the medical camp.
  6. 15 August 2023 – Independence Day Celebration
    NSS Unit celebrated Independence Day. Mrs. Angel Priya hoisted the national flag on the college campus.
  7. 24 August 2023 – NSS Day: No to Plastic (Meendum Manjapai)
    NSS students actively participated in the No to Plastic campaign by making handmade cloth bags to reduce the use of plastic bags. Around 12 NSS volunteers participated.
  8. 08 September 2023 – Cleaning Day
    NSS organized The Cleaning Day in classrooms. Students participated in cleaning their classrooms and maintaining cleanliness.
  9. 29 September 2023 – World Heart Day
    NSS Unit and the Department of Biochemistry conducted World Heart Day activities. Students participated in BP checking, blood sugar testing, and yoga awareness sessions.
  10. 02 October 2023 – Importance of Voting
    The Electoral Literacy Club and NSS conducted a poster presentation competition on the Importance of Voting. The Principal, Dr. P. Ganaselvam, delivered a speech on voting awareness.
  11. 12 October 2023 – Right to Information Act, 2005
    NSS conducted an awareness event on the Right to Information Act, 2005. Students participated in drawing and speech competitions.
  12. 15 October 2023 – International Literacy Day
    NSS organized activities related to International Literacy Day. Students participated in drawing competitions, and around 22 volunteers won prizes.
  13. 15 October 2023 – One Month Training Programme on Electoral Literacy
    The Government of Tamil Nadu conducted a One Month Training Programme on Electoral Literacy. Around 50 first-year NSS students participated.
  14. 15 October 2023 – National Disaster Day
    NSS organized National Disaster Day activities in the auditorium. Students participated in a painting competition. The best works were selected and awarded prizes and certificates.
  15. 16 October 2023 – Youth Awakening Day
    NSS conducted Youth Awakening Day. Essay writing and poetry competitions were organized. Around 35 students participated and won prizes.
  16. 18 October 2023 – Global Handwash Day
    NSS observed Global Handwash Day through drawing and speech competitions. Students were encouraged to practice hand hygiene and spread awareness.
  17. 27 October 2023 – NCERT Training Programme
    NCERT conducted a training programme for NSS students. The event was inaugurated by Principal Dr. P. Ganaselvam, and training was provided by Mrs. Beulah. NSS students visited various schools to explain NCERT activities and teaching methods.
  18. 31 October 2023 – National Unity Day
    NSS organized National Unity Day celebrations. Students participated in drawing competitions, and prizes and certificates were distributed to the winners.
  19. 18 November 2023 – National Youth Festival (District Level Competition)
    The Government of Tamil Nadu conducted the National Youth Festival district-level competition. NSS volunteers participated in folk dance (group and solo), singing (group and solo), poster making, story writing, and storytelling. Around 52 NSS volunteers participated, and 16 students were selected at the district level.
  20. 23 November 2023 – Survey on Youth Not in Formal Education or Regular Employment
    NSS conducted a survey in Veppur Village on youth who were not engaged in formal education or regular employment. Students collected information through field surveys.
  21. 27 November 2023 – National Constitution Day
    NSS students took a pledge on National Constitution Day. Around 50 NSS students participated.
  22. 01 December 2023 – World AIDS Day (Online Quiz Competition)
    NSS observed World AIDS Day by conducting an online quiz competition. Around 230 NSS students participated.
  23. 01 December 2023 – World AIDS Day Competitions
    NSS students participated in competitions conducted by Thiruvalluvar University, Serkkadu, including Rangoli and Poster Making competitions under the theme World AIDS Day. Twenty-three students participated and won prizes.
  24. 11 December 2023 – World Human Rights Day
    NSS conducted World Human Rights Day activities including essay writing and chart-making competitions. Around 25 students participated, and three students received prizes.
  25. 03 January 2024 to 09 January 2024 – Seven Days Special Camp
    The NSS Unit conducted a Seven Days Special Camp at Veppur Village. The valedictory function was held on 09 January 2024. Students actively participated and made the camp a grand success.
  26. 12 January 2024 – National Youth Day (Live Telecast)
    The Government of Tamil Nadu conducted National Youth Day celebrations through a live telecast inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. NSS students participated in the programme.
  27. 12 January 2024 – National Youth Day Celebrations
    NSS students celebrated National Youth Day through painting competitions, Rangoli competitions, and a food festival.
  28. 24 January 2024 – Voters Day Pledge
    NSS students took the Voters Day Pledge. Around 50 NSS students participated in the pledge-taking ceremony.
  • 26th November 2022 – Constitution Day (or Samvidhan Divas), also known as National Law Day,was celebrated at M.M.E.S College, organized by NSS unit on 25th November 2022. With regard, activities like reading of the Preamble to Indian Constitution‟ were conducted for the NSS students to honour the adoption of the Indian Constitution. 11 students enthusiastically participated in the speech activity entitled as “Indian Constitution”. The students highlighted the importance of various facets of our Constitution and also realized the efforts of Dr.B.R.Ambedkar, father of the Indian constitution.
  • On 21st October 2022 – ‘Clean India Awareness Rally’ was organized in M.M.E.S.Women’s Arts and Science College. Around 50 NSS volunteers from all the departments actively participated in the rally. The public areas outside the college campus i.e the place near A2b Ranipet had been completely cleaned . A neat and clean atmosphere was created.
  • 31st October 2022 – ‘Fit India Awareness Rally’ was organized in M.M.E.S.Women’s Arts and Science College. Around 48 NSS volunteers from all the department participated in “FIT INDIA MOVEMENT” of the college campus.
  • 3rd March 2023 to 9th March 2023. The NSS unit has conducted a Special Camp at Veppur.The students enthusiastically participated in a camp and made a grand success.
  • On 06th April 2023.The National Service Scheme Unit of M.M.E.S.Women’s Art’s and Science College organized an Awareness Programme On World Health Day on 06-04-2023.The aim of the awareness programme was to understand the importance of health among the future generations i.e students.Mrs.Lydia, Ms.Amrutha, Ms.Blessy from Scudder Memorial Hospital and Dr.B.Sasirekha Head Department of commerce and IQAC Co-ordinator of M.M.E.S Women’s Arts and Science College was the Chief Guest of the event.The Chief guests gave the awareness by an skit.Volunteers gained knowledge about more healthy eating options instead of junk food.
  • 5/08/2021 – The NSS unit of MMES College and Collegiate Education department jointly organised ‘ Covid-19 Awareness Programme’ on 5th August 2021. Online Drawing and Slogan writing contest were conducted . Students participated from all the departments.
  • 6/08/2021- The NSS unit of M.M.E.S College and Collegiate Education department jointly organized Online Quiz and Meme writing competition on 6th August 2021 regarding ‘Covid- 19 Awareness Programme’. Students participated and received e- certificates.
  • 14/08/2021- On 14th August 2021, the Rotary Club of Arcot East and the National Service Scheme jointly organised and successfully completed the event of ‘ Tree Plantation Ceremony’ at M.M.E.S College Campus.   • 19/08/2021- The NSS unit assembled the teaching staff members in the MMES Auditorium to administer the ‘Sadbhavana Diwas Pledge’ on 19th August 2021 at 11a.m. Mrs. Rahul Begun, Head, Department of Tamil read the pledge and staff members repeated the same.
  • 3/09/2021 – ‘Free Vaccination camp’, organized in M.M.E.S College on 3rd September 2021. NSS unit played an important role in making this camp. It was organised for the persons aged 18 years and above. Students and Staff members got immunization done and during this all protective measures related to Covid-19 were adopted.
  • 30/09/2021 – On 30th September 2021 ‘Clean-up Day’ has been conducted by NSS unit in our college campus. NSS students activity participated and cleaned the college campus. Other students cleaned their respective classes.
  • 21/12/2021- ‘Free Vaccination camp’ organized in M.M.E.S College on 21st December 2021. NSS unit of our college played an important role in arranging this one day camp. Staff members and students got vaccination and during this camp all the Safety measures related to Covid-19 were adopted. More than 100 members got immunization done.
  • 24/01/2022 – As part of ‘National Girl Child Day’, the NSS unit has conducted Selfi with Mother, List of student’s achievers and Essay Writing competitions. Nearly, 30 students from various departments took p[art in this.
  • 07/03/2022 – NSS and IQAC of M.M.E.S College and Scudder Memorial Hospital, Ranipet jointly organized an ‘Awareness Programme on Cervical Cancer & Breast Cancer’. Totally, 75 students have attended and benefited. Resourse Persons: Mrs. Esther Jackson, HICC Nurse & Mrs. Jecie Zazar ICU Incharge, SMH Hospital Ranipet.
  • 08/03/2022 – ‘The International Women’s day’ was celebrated at M.M.E.S College, organized by NSS unit and IQAC on 8th March 2022. Various events were conducted like Tamil Elocution, Essay writing and fancy dress completions on the topic Women’s Empowerment. Our college students interestingly took part in events and won prices.
  • 09/03/2022 – On 9th March 2022, Mahalakshmi College Principal visited the college campus for MGNCRE campus sustainability practices and Social responsibility report across Institutions.
  • 18/03/2022 – On 18th March 2022, NSS Co-ordinator Dr. K. Ravichandran from Thiruvalluvar University visited our college campus for Random Verification of enrollment data. The data’s were physically verified and found corrected.
  • 09/05/2022 to 15/05/2022 – The NSS unit of M.M.E.S College has conducted ‘7 Days Special Camp’ at Ramdoss nagar. The first day of the camp was inaugurated on 9th May 2022 at 4pm by Dr. K. Ravichandran, NSS programme Co-ordinator, Thiruvalluvar University Serkkadu, Vellore. The students enthusiastically participated in the camp and made grand success.
  • 27/05/2022- Our college NSS students took part in ‘Plastic Eradication’ on 28th May 2022, conducted by Melvisharam Municipality, Ranipet District. Nearly, 50 students took part and cleaned the respective areas allotted by the Municipality members.
  • 03/06/2022 – As part of ‘World Bicycle Day’ on 3rd June 2022, our college NSS unit organized “Fit India Freedom Rider Cycle Rally”. More than 20 NSS Volunteers took part in this event.
  • 03/06/2022 – On 3rd June 2022, our M.M.E.S College organized ‘Cleaning Day’. More than 50 NSS Volunteers took part in this event and cleaned the college campus.
  • 15/06/2022 – ‘International Yoga day’ was celebrated by the students and the teachers of M.M.E.S College, Melvisharam on 15th June 2022, organized by NSS unit and IQAC with great enthusiasm. The chief guest, C.Parameswari certified yoga trainer emphasized the importance of Yoga in our day today life.

  • 12th January 2021 – On behalf of National Youth Day celebration, the NSS unit of our college organized online Youth Day Quiz. 100 Students participated in the Quiz and e-certificates were provided to all participants who scored above 50%.
  • 25th March 2021 – National Road Safety Month was observed. An awareness programme was organized by NSS unit through online. Mrs. Siddiqa Parveen Head, Department of English spoke on the topic ‘Road Safety Awareness’ and Mrs. Rashul Begum Head, Department of Tamil spoke on ‘ Saalai Vidhi Muraigal’. More than 100 students participated in the programme.
  • 2nd February 2021 – As part of National Road Safety Month, NSS unit organized online Road Safety Quiz. 120 students from our college interestingly took part in the Quiz. Students who scored more than 50% we provided e-certificates.
  • 3rd February 2021 – The NSS unit has conducted Awareness Rally on Road Safety, as part of National Road Safety Month. The NSS students of our college enthusiastically participated in the rally and made the Programme successful. Dr. K. Anees Ahmed, Secretary & Correspondent of our college flagged off and started the rally. The students were assembled and Dr. Freda Gnanaselvam, Principal of the college spoke on the importance of Road Safety to the gathering.
  • 26th June 2019 On regarding Yoga day. We the NSS conducted the voga class hased on Yoga asana. More than 80 students took part in this Yoga class and againsed the benefits of Yoga asana.
  • 26th July 2019 On behalf of Jal-Sakthi Abhiyan conservation of water NSS conducted awareness program Rain water harvest and other water conservation methods in the college campus through conducting various competitions among various department students Students participated with much interest and exhibited their posters, chart works and Models PPI also done by students on how to save rain water. Technical idea has been given to students to save rain water.
  • 24th September 2019 NSS day Golden Jubilee Celebration has celebrated in (C Abdul Hakeem College, Autonomous) in a good manner. NSS coordinators attended the program and enjoyed the Jubilee day of NSS.
