Department of Nutrition, Food Service Management and Dietetics
The department of Nutrition Food Service Management and Dietetics has been established during the academic year 2008-2009 and Re-Started in the Year 2018. It is an undergraduate course. Nutrition is the scientific study of the metabolic and physiological response of the body to a diet.
It draws knowledge from various disciplines such as Microbiology, Physiology, Biochemistry, Food science, Food service management, Dietetics, Human Nutrition, etc. The duration of the course is three years and the course syllabus is divided into six semesters. The program is multidisciplinary in nature. The course is career originating in nature which opens many job scopes.
Vision
- To provide a student-focused learning environment that allows nutrition students to develop their potential in becoming competent nutritionist who empower their patients, clients, employees, and communities.
Mission
- The mission of the Department of Nutrition Food Service Management and Dietetics is to provide students with a broad educational background in the science of Food and Nutrition, Food Service Management and Dietetics. Students will gain an understanding of the role food plays in disease prevention and promotion of health.
