Environment Club

AIM

The main aim of establishing the Environment Club was to conserve the natural resources and the natural environment to create Eco friendly environment and create awareness of biodiversity conservation and local environmental issues among students and to create a clean and green consciousness among students through various innovative methods.

Environment club plays an important role in creating environmental awareness amongst the future generation. The Main motive of the Environment Club is to nurture and teach the importance of environment to students.

Objectives

  • To motivate the students to keep their surroundings green and clean by undertaking plantation of trees and plants.
  • To promote culture of conservation of water by minimizing the use of water.
  • To maintain cleanliness in and around the campus.

Vision

  • To be the best Campus for protecting and creating environment awareness by educating the students, offering programs and required resources for them.

Mission

  • To educate students to create awareness amongst public and sanitary workers, so as to stop the indiscriminate dumping and burning of waste which causes different types of pollutions throughout the environment and also creates a path for many complication in all living organisms.

Head Department of Biotechnology
  • The Department of Biotechnology, along with environmental club students, went on a one-day “Field Trip” on September 13, 2022, at SD Farm at Gollamadugu, Chittoor District, Andhra Pradesh
  • “World Environment Day” was celebrated on May 27, 2022, at M.M.E.S. Women’s Arts and Science College, Melvisharam. Plants and trees were planted by the college Principal, the IQAC coordinator, and students. Outdoor classroom was taken. The news was updated in the Dinakaran newspaper on June 3, 2022
  • The Department of Biotechnology and Environmental club organized Webinar on “Integrated Organic Farming for Sustainable Income” on 30 September 2021. Mrs. Deepalakshmi, Managing Director, SD Farms, Vellore was the host and Guest of Honor. Our UG and PG Students actively participated and won Certificates
  • The Department of Biotechnology, along with environmental club students, went on a one-day “Field Trip” on September 28, 2019 at SD Farm in Gollamadugu, Chittoor District, Andhra Pradesh. Two staff members were accompanied by the students
  • The Department of Biotechnology, along with the Environmental Club, organized a "Guest Lecture" on December 28, 2018, entitled "Integrated Organic Farming" Mrs. S. Deepalakshmi, Managing Director, SD Farms, Vellore, was the resource person for the Seminar
